. ok they look good, but need alot of love to keep them this way , you Teenagers wreck the crap out of all your scooters ,
good points , it looks like a bike , you can hide your helmet and some shopping in the dummy fuel tank , can get 40mph plus out of it down hill , and even get nods off superbike riders.
I would advise if you want super scooter speed , buy a 125cc version , dont muck around putting illegal 70cc kits on , bigger exhausts, etc,
the bike was made and set up to do 30mph so do your test if you want to go bigger

de- restricted, 100cc sports exhaust
Owned for 3 months.
hi, ive had my dna since january , and it cost's loads good bike when it running but its spent more time in the garage than i have been on it. my dads just brought a second dna and it's stopped working already. but when u do get it running it's good dnt have to worry about gears and still looks lyk a bike mine goes bout 60mps de-risticted and new exhaust even faster than my m8 rx 50 .
I've had my DNA 125 for five months now put a sports exhaust on ans carbon yoke cover new batery plug pimped the tyres with some tyre paint couple of fancy decals.
I love it only had one problem it would not start up once due to battery being wet we had a massive down pour but apart from that its fine When I pass my test I'm going for a 200cc.
all the look of a superbike but actually a scooter

hey im gettin a dna 50 in 2 weeks, looks amazin ive sat on one and revd it and all that lol but i jus wana kno what all these problems are about. is it just when u buy a second hand one or when its new aswell?
its my first bike to be and i cant wait but still nervous
Overall a great little bike, I had mine de-restricted and could do 65mph down hill!! It would easily pass any moped. Good on fuel, like most 50's se can do 90-100mpg. My only complaint is that things kept going wrong, first my psiton blew, then my water pump, but as im slightly mechanical minded, it was not a problem replacing these, although it seems that gilera made the DNA almst impossible t work on as each and evry bolt is imposible to get to!!
Preformance, MPG, Looks, not a gay sit on moped!
Goes wrong easily, hard to fix, ease of loss of licence!

I have just brought a gilera 180 and i had a problem with the speedo not working at all so i took it off and had a look and found that there were two little plastic prongs broken off, that hold the magnet to the wheel so i put tiny srews in there places first drilling small holes and it works just fine!...
the speed and acceleration are brilliant!
ive found that with my gilera that there are a lot of electrical faults
"i ave a nrg power with a 70cc bore kit n a leo vince hand made zx pipe it does 75 on a flat it also has a malossi variator and malossi rollers i wanna no if i buy a malossi crank shaft will it make the performance any better" --- on your nrg on the old exhaust was there a pipe going back into the engine? i did and i put the zx pipe on but off the starting line its slow so i was thinking it was tht pipe doing it because i have left it off and there is just a hole now, any ideas ??

piaggio nrg power
Owned for 3 months.
just had a mallosi 210cc kit , malossi gear kit and malossi race carb ,mallosi drive belt and new chain fitted along with a scorpion exhaust and its like a different bike , Very fast now in the wet the back end comes out from a standing start and in the dry the front end comes up a couple of inches. It has been expensive but well worth the extra power. i had to have a bigger battery as the 210 kit is higher compresion and needs that bit more to start as i found out 10 miles away from home.
ive ad my dna 125 for a few years now and it looks the dogs i av just put a tail tidy on which looks great micro arrow indicators and a scorpion exhaust system which gives an incredible sound, i'd recommend this bike greatly. at the mo im tryin to find out if i can adapt it to have gears cause that wud make it even better. so if you can help holla back
Hi bought a gilera dna 125 5 months ago and it is brilliant. no problems at all apart from 1 puncture, i have fitted a scopion exhaust and k&n filter and it sounds great. fitting a tail tidy makes the back end look far better as well plus a few other trick parts. accerleration is very good , easily beats cars from the lights, cruises at 50-60 no problem and a top speed of 75mph
I bought a brand new Gilera DNA180cc on January 2003. I liked the looks, economy, and ease of use (automatic). It was always serviced on time with the right stuff. The only trouble it gave me during the first year was a malfunctioning horn which had to be replaced 3 times. About a year ago (about six months after the guarantee expired and ONLY at 10,000KM) the engine began to stall occasionally when I was doing some 60-70Kmh at about 5-6000rpm. At first it did this about once a week (which is already bad enough) but as time went by it started to die ever more frequently and with a couple of loud BANGS. I reported this to the local Piaggio dealer who conveyed me to their "mechanic". He said he checked, tested, and replaced everything but could not put his finger on the problem. I collected my bike about 3 months later. It started to die again within 2 weeks. I handed it to the same mechanic and collected it again after another 3 months. The so called "repairs" cost me about 500 Euro total. I sold this bike just two weeks after I collected it. (Phew) The guy who bought it from me only phoned a week later to complain that it was stalling again. Enough said. I'm through with Piaggio. I had a 1981 Suzuki 125X4 2 stroke twin before I bought the DNA. Yes, it was old, but it was reliable, and in all these years the Suzuki never gave me any trouble whatsoever. I REGRET having sold it. Now I bought a JAPANESE bike.
Everyone seems to complain about battery failure - its because when you put the steering lock on there are to options: the lock or parking - the parking is the alarm.
Next of all, all the models produced 2003 onwards had faulty fuel pumps, which i replaced for a tenner and fitting was simple. No other problems whatsoever.
Secondly, the restrictors are the gearbox, exhaust, carb and vacuum hose. The carb needle needs adjusting and the washer on the float pin being put in the middle. the vacuum hose going to the fuel pump has a small brass restrictor in it - remove this and then the brass plate in the air intake so more air and fuel can flow.
the bike was great until the day of m b-day. i got 1 mile and it broke down and it took3 months for a garage to figure out clocks were fukd.then throttle cabble sleeveju, ped to the side of tha splitter jammed at full throttletried to put power pipe on went great tha nite i had it on 75mph then next day i couldnt get over 20. next it was flooding sorted that 2nite or so i thought now itsnot letting fuel through any ideas 2 help.am gettin red metal flakes next month and the wheels powder coated dark chrome if it ever goesproperly
