Double overhead cam aluminum 6 with a ZF-1 5 speed gear box-- what's not to like?
This most unloved Aston affords the opportunity to operate the same drive train that won LeMans for the cost of a Ford Fiesta.
DBS prices are dirt cheap low because restoration of a poor example will leave you upside down.
Buy some else's restoration-- get the car for free-- and enjoy the hell out of it!
Room for the kids, too.

Until recently i owned a Green '69 DBS just like the model used in the James Bond film 'OHMSS'. Infact it was 2 chassis numbers higher than the one in the film! The car just oozes power and speed even stood still, and in profile it must be one of the most beautiful around. The engine note was absoluely fantastic and i would occasionally set off car alarms as i rumbled past! For a 2 tonne car it handled rather well and the power steering is the best and most communicative i have ever driven. Even the handling is rather good for a near 2-tonne car. Get a good example and you won't go far wrong, but parts are expensive (join the AMOC for help here). And ofcourse, you can always say "Shall we take the Aston tonight darling..?"
