I bought a 1999 F2 Evolution in june of last year and can honestly say I love driving it whenever I can. It is starting to overheat at times but you get that with all cars of this age. I would be surprised if anything could go around corners as well as this car and that includes my 900cc motorbike. Being a 2 litre it is reasonably fast with 0-60 in 8 seconds and when it hits 4000 rpm it pulls even faster and a lot of other cars then start to get smaller in the mirror.
This car has been described in some articles as a true drivers car and I can whole heartedly agree with that and I have been driving since 1974. This is the best car I have driven fast along winding roads as this is where it excels.
The F2 Evolution models are becoming rare now and there was only 1500 made but if you get the chance to drive one grab it with both hands and enjoy it.
Overall a great car with eye catching style which will put a smile on anyones face.
The interior lets it down but then again it is a budget car so you get what you pay for

Fantastic little car people.
Popular with the girls, superb reliability and running costs are affordable.
Fuel consumption is not up to scratch for a small 1.6
If you compare this 1.6 to a civic 1.6 the civic will return 31.2 in the town and you will be lucky to get 24.1 with this.
Sorry to disapoint you.
More bad news
The insurance ,it is group 10
probs £300 - £600 depending on your status
Now some good news
These cars are good on corners and windey roads
Take it out the country and you will see what I mean ;)
overall

I own one of these cars and the amount of head turning and eyebrow raising i can pull of in 5 mins would surprise you ferrari owners.
Mine has only got fox alloys and tint on the windows though you cant keep your eyes off it.

Its very low down and for a 1.6 it pulls reasonably well at 5600rpms
handeling is brilliant
Fuel Consumption is a bismal
22/24mpg in town
31/34mpg out of town
Mine has a 2400 sound system and it is loud ! lol
Reccomended car if you want a cheap sports car
insurance group 10 roughly £350 a year
superb relaibility-a couple of fuel sensor problems-kangeroo petrol lol and guess what that was the only thing that had to go that was not under the warrenty lol.
Buy one if you want to be that bit different and stand out in the crowd for cheaper prices than others sports cars.

Just bought the new Hyundai Coupe - June 2003. I have opted for the 2.0 SE Model after 6 (YES, 6!) Test Drives - including a Test Drive that lasted half a day! Hopefully, I will report back in a few months time with the latest but from what I have seen, it's a CORKER! Hyundai have really got their Act together - no wonder Nissan and Mazda are running scared!

1998 SCoupe 2.0: A little gem of a car! Bought 2nd hand (2yrs old), and apart from regular servicing and tyres, it hasn't cost a penny.

Inside is a bit plasticky - even the leather, and I can't get a completely comfortable driving position - seats too high - problem for tall people. It would help if the steering wheel was adjustable for reach.

The engine is torquey and quite happy to lug around in high gears. Nice growl when you rev it. It's noisy on the motorway though - not much sound insulation.

Steering and handling are lovely, and with the back seats down, it's got a prety big load space. Small children in the back only - my teenagers whinge incesantly!

Well, what can I say. I love this car. The reason is simple, where can you find the car like this in this price range.
I bought my second hand(the car is 1997) and now nearly complete one year with it (april)
The ride is great, the response is great, the look is great and only paid half the cost of 1992 Celica.
Only regular service, a new clucth, a new radiator(old one block) and now the car runs so smooth. Even dream of driving it at night so this say something.
Not recommended for family, no room at all, but what do you expect from a coupe.
Overall, great car, great look, GREAT VALUE.
