Commodores have always been a bit behind in technology like most mainstream Holdens compared to its (usually more expensive) European and Japanese rivals. Parts are very common in Australia as it is one of the most popular cars built here so maintenence is rather inexpensive. However in these days with more and more hi-tech cars being produced the commodores aging engines and chassis designs are not up to scratch.
