Ours is a 2005 Explorer and we have had no problems with it. Towing is a dream but you need a hefty tug like a Kia Sorento as the nose weight is a bit heavy for a twin axle.
Ours is a 1996 Explorer - the one with the washroom at the back, rather than that double bed of later years. To us, the good points include the complete lack of that chintzy, frilling nonsense that so many caravan interior designers seem to go in for, the spacious washroom with large separate shower, and the truly massive kitchen.
Not so good was the fact that a leaky roof cost us nearly £1000 to repair when the 'van was just five years old.
I supposed the ultimate test came when it was stolen in November 2002, and we promptly went out and bought an identical one.
Owned for more than 5 years.
