I upgraded from an Audi A6 to this 1999 Spacewagon 2.4 GDI SE. Lovely comfortable car to drive and lots of extras. Very good driving position. Only downside is automatic engine is very thirsty. I do about twenty to the gallon. Now I have a cheap run about so only use the Wagon at weekends for the kids. Still a superb vehicle.
i have at present a 1990 h plate space wagon. good for the kid carrying capacities, terrible on petrol consumption! very reliable and good fun to drive but the battery will insist on killing itself every two days... whether i use the thing or not.(guess it dont like the cold). the luggage space is horrendous, nowhere to store tools or shopping (yes i am a woman, but i prefer fixing to shopping) could do with a parcel shelf of some description i think. from sam, wakefield
1999 (T) Spacewagon 2.4 GDi GLX - A lovely car, lots of space, plenty of gadgets, great driving position, BUT 20mpg round town and 32mpg on a run. As well as it being thirsty, the insurance was also very high. Why don't Mitsubishi do this car in a diesel version, im sure it would boost sales for them??? After 3 expensive months im having to kiss it goodbye and go for something cheaper to run. Im sad to see it go, but I can't warrant paying 40 quid for 250-300 miles of motoring. Don't laugh (because everyone does!), but im going for a new Skoda Octavia TDi estate - a very under-rated car which will give me up to 64mpg and still tow the caravan. The only thing im losing is two seats and a badge.
bigger than a car but not as cumbersome as a full blown MPV the only problem I have is the daily argument by the children of "Who gets to sit in the back" Super for sister-brother arguments..they dont need to sit next to each other...peace at last ...
