Having owned the Adria 610 twin axle for over a year now I can say that although it is basic compared to modern caravans, it is more than suitable for a 5 person family.
The downlights on mine have been changed to recessed lights which make for better appearance.
Front locker is able to house 2 gas cylinders (advise you only need one) and the seal can be easily replaced if worn.
Being a twin axle it tows very well even in a cross wind, but a stabaliser is essential for optimum stability.
On board water tank is a bonus with a whale filling point fitted as an extra, no more lugging barrels around, plumb and go.
Interior is basic but usable with an area for locking the kids in a separate bedroom. Here I fitted a lightweight unit for their TV and play station between the bunk beds and single.
Cooking area has extractor fan and downlight but lacks a plug for the kettle and toaster. I will be fitting one this year. 4 burner hob is fine but the lack of a cooker may put some off. Again it is planned to fit one this year. At the moment this is overcome by using a low powered electric cooker inthe awning.
Toilet area is laid out with shower, sink and toilet. The sink folds down over the toilet but the holding catch is a bit flimsy. Advice the sink is down for travelling.
Main area converts to a large bed, holds all of us on a wet night in front of the TV. Here I have modified it with battons for the centre cushions rather than use the folding table. The down side of this area is the rear seat being far to narrow to sit on, I may convert this with a locker/table like modern caravans.
Blown heating can drain the battery but there is ample heat just from the fitted heater.
The boiler and heating controls are located in the kids bedroom area. Not the best place for them.
Points to watch for are with the roof vents and skylight to ensure there are no leaks. The seals can be change cheaply and easily if required.
Overall, I like this van and for £3200 including all extras was a bargin. You would need to shop around to find one as not many where imported to UK with UK specifications.
1991 Adria Forma twin axle about 23' external length. Owned for last 5 years. Appearance- front has aged & faded, otherwise reasonably impressive for age. Interior consists of 5/6 berth luxury sprung velour mattresses incl. incl 2 x permanant bunks that will take 6'4" adults! Inboard water, hot water, blown heating (both thermostat controlled), electric toilet, mirror finish but small closet, quality woodwork and overhead storage, in fact everything except an oven (we chose to keep the storage). Style is similar to that of Ikea with modern lightwood / birch finish and brilliant lighting, flyscreens, solar blinds. Max tow cap =1450Kg so large watch kerb weight of car. We use a 3.2V6 Frontera and the Adria tows like a 10' Sprite!. Scores better than many new caravans on damp, feels well made and sturdy. (If it wasn't for the underfloor vents, you could use it as a boat!)Spare parts available but UK distributer waste of time, order parts from Adria Ireland or France.
Owned for more than 5 years.
