My 6 year old E200 Avantgarde is rusting on the door panels and on the bonnet. No one at Mercedes dealers in Aberdeen will have anything to do with this problem. Other E Class owners have experienced the same rusting problem.

For a while the W211 build quality was really looking like becoming mass market stuff, but recently MB have upped their game following huge complaints in the US, a market they are really keen to do well in. Had my E320CDI Avantgarde for nearly 6 months now and very impressed: big, comfortable & very good looking. Faster than 320 petrol: 145mph, 0-60 in 7.7 seconds but returns average 35mpg.
Next stop a Brabus engine conversion: 250 bhp & 569Nm of torque. Arrrghhhh.....

Replaced a W124 300E with a new E320 elegence. Just not the same quality. Overall it's a good car, shame about the slightly shoddy interior and build.
