Available with 1.8, 1.6, 2 litre, and from 1981 a 2.5 V6, the Alfetta provides Alfa performance and handling at a reasonable price. As usual for Alfas of this period, many suffered from rust, but it should still be possible to find a cared for late model example that hasn't suffered too badly.

I own a 1982 Alfetta Gtv6 in my view one of the most elegant coupes of the '70's and on....,it has one of the best engines ever made this side of a Ferrari, good ride and handling and if you look after it will give years of rewarding driving experience that can only be matched by cars costing much much more than the £5000 or £6000 you need to get the best of the last real Alfa Romeo Coupe'

I had a wonderful 1978 GTV 2.0. I bought it for next to nothing. The engine was amazing, (240kmh and well into red zone) as was the road handling, but crap gearbox, a leaky sunroof, electronics that could have been made by Lucas and probably the most stupid place to put the boot piston (that never works anyway). And I still love 'em! Tons of character but if you want an easy life, don't touch old alfa's with a bargepole!
