Very easily sailed. With cockpit control system even a beginner could manage the boat single handed. Comfortable ride and safe with speed available for those who want it.

I owned a factory finished Hunter 27 T/K for several seasons. Very solidly built (bottom an inch thick). She happily charged across the Channel and sailed around the Channel Islands and to France in weather up to F7, mostly solo, without the slightest cause for concern. In fact, we even went up the notorious Swinge to Alderney in a F7, not to be repeated, but demonstrated her seaworthiness and strength. Very good upwind. Reef early. Yanmar 9 a little small for lengthy motoring. Bouncy motion, like most light yachts, can bring on mal de mer earlier than heavier boats, but it has to be rough.

First impressions of my new boat are favourable. The helm is remarkably light and responsive, seemingly turning effortlessly in her own length. So far we have only sailed in winds up to force four and she seems much faster than my old Hurley Folkdancer. All lines are led to the cockpit and the winches are near to hand. The Yanmar 10 hp diesel engine is quiet and pushes the boat along at six knots. Below she is open plan and spacious but I dislike the centre fold-down table which cannot be moved and the claustrophopic aft (under the cockpit) double berth. Forward and side berths are comfortable and spacious. The boat is equipped with an autohelm and so far, at most points of sail she holds an arrow atraight course. This last feature is new to me and continues to amaze.

Easily driven hull reaches 7 knots with ease. Better reefed early. Tough hull. Simple and effective interior. Sensitive helm and lively motion, but excellent in heavy weather, particularly to windward.
