I went out on Thursday to buy a jacket to wear on my cg125 and I saw a dero, so I traded in my cg and got my dero, and woooooooooow oh my god what a machine the street cred alone is worth it's weight in gold, as soon as I've passed it's the bigger bike for me.

the varadero is by far the best 125 i have come across but also the most exspensive but that is the only bad thing about it. The performance was very surprising when i first rode the bike, being 19 stone i did not expect much but i went out for a ride i was blown away by the acceleration from 3rd to 4th gear and top speed of 70 at 11 and a half thousand revs but thats lying down on the tank. I have recently put a scorpian exhaust on it and the accelleration is even better. I highly recommend buying one if you want reliability and power.

Hello there guys I bought my varadero 2 weeks ago and althought its a great bike i had some problems with it. first of all the bike leaks oil. i took it to the dealer first they told me its the grear lever seal. the changed that. but was still leaking so they had a better look and its from the chain sproket bearing (the front one ). Also the engine makes a weir noise and it comes from the cluch side. the noise its dificult to describe but it like the one that you hear when you switch the engine off and you can hear the tink tink sound as the engine cools. but i have to say it is much louder and faster and it gets faster as you rev up the engine.

I purchased mine from eBay from a private seller at £1900 for a 2004 model with 1100 miles on the clock in October 2005, had to travel from Northern Ireland to Holyhead to pick up the bike, there were some bikers on the ferry back, all Fireblades riders, they looked at the bike and said, "L" plates my f**k, thats not a 125!!!!

I had a good laugh just thinking about it now.

I had a 50cc moped 34 years ago and haven't been on a bike since, Am 50 now and it's time to get my licence quickly before I need a zimmerframe to get round!

I found it to be a great bike, I also still have the L plates up, I passed the theory test 1 week ago, I will do my practical test in March 2006.

Wish me luck.

I've owned a varadero for 7 months now and have found everything about it great apart from reliability. recently it broke down on my way home from the pub at about midnight leaving me a 6 mile push home.it was taken to my dealers where it was found to have a crack in the piston. i've now been waiting 2 weeks for my vara back and its looking like another 2 weeks according to my dealer. not what i expect from a 7 month old bike.

i live in greece-Athens city and i ride 100 km a day to go to work and back into the biggest traffic jams in Europe.driving acar is oyt of the question,so i bought my Varadero 125 second hand 3 months ago.The bike had covered 19000 km at that time and i covered another 6000 riding in all conditions and all kind of road.High temperatures in greek summer ,rain in winter, riding in athens center as well in motor ways in the outskirts has been trouble free.I even made a 300 km trip on a sunday morning(one person only) doing 70 kmphr in the road of a semirural area.I have no engine oilproblems to report. The only problem i ve had is the out of order temperature and kilometer reading panel wich costs 300 euros. Can somebody tell me the recomended cruising speed when riding for hours in motorways?

Outsanding 125 (03 model), lost count of other bikers with neck strain trying to work out why a big bike has L-plates as I flick it through twisties flat out (75mph seems realistic cruising speed although 83? is possible)... Stand it next to VFR800 and it wont look out of place, 240miles on a full tank is possible if you go easy on it, 180 average wringing it, which when your used to the bike you find you have to do as 50mph sat behind any car is just too dull! So far no tech problems, just the condensation in the oil which hopefully will go with next oil change. 3300miles covered in 5months, its time for DAS lessons, and a bigger bike. The lack of 6th gear is frustrating and is the pre-judging an overtake at 55mph+ due to lack of power... Feels like a gutless 600cc 'cus of it's size but have to say it's the best 125cc bike I've ever ridden! Now wheres me helmet....

In poland there are many holes in roads :) All sportbike riders must watch out, not to loose their wheels on the road.. With my vara I don't even feel them. After 6 months I can tell you that almost everyone think it's 650ccm :) I love the sound of my vara engine.. I ALSAW RECOMEND YOU TO MAKE 8 HOLES IN BACK OF YOUR EXHAUST,YOU WILL LOVE THE EFFECTS. One minus of this bike is not so good performance... I think it will change when I will buy 160ccm cylindres, and sport exhaust. Honda Varadero is best 125 on the world !!!

Well, after just over 2 thousands miles on the clock, its time to sell the Vara. She has been great to ride and to learn on, never let me down and given me a great start into bikes. Fitting the Digi device really helped me stop finding that "six" gear !
Anyone who wants a Vara, then please contact me......

I've done 55000km now with my Dero. Very reliable. Havent had any problems with condensation. Probably that's because i live in a tropical country. So far so good.

Hi update on previous comments. 7000 miles done now and no problems. Watch out for the exhaust it costs £500!!! to replace. The fuel Optimax is great, went back to ordinary unleaded and could really notice a lack of poke so Optimax for me. And the Shell advance (fully synthetic) is great. Still getting condensation in the oil and this is due to it being a four stroke 125 just change the oil 800/1000 miles it will love you for it. what else....rusty exhaust nuts, no aftermarket pipes, chain and sprocket change after 6000 (£130) not too good. Was expecting at least 11000 out of it. 78mph is the max with your head behind the screen! NO reliability issues, and the only thing that bugs me is the rear shock degrading not physically but hard to keep clean and looks like its rotting away! still 75 to the gallon and still great fun.

Had my Varadero for over 2 years. Great bike, but could do with a little more power (ok it's a 125). There is a French Company with web site called Unlimited Power offering carbon/stainless steel cans, claiming 15% added power! Plan to sell bike in next year so don't think I'll bother upgrading it. p.s. just got stung £122 for routine service (oil/filter change) from local Honda dealer. Bahh
