These coupe's are really good looking cars, corner well and had the best overtake times in tests (Motor,Autocar). I have two-one for parts-pretty much complete bar the boot top and gearbox is spent.
Came across a Pre-1991 Mazda 626 club in Holland when surfing but no reply yet to my message. Club seems to have some spooky driving tests for members -You have been warned ! May be worth a look however.
Happpy to chat but not v technical...

I have a coupe which looks good but needs a new gearbox. It may yet become a donor to my Mazda Montrose Cabriolet- yes, that's right: Cabriolet. It was converted 5 years ago -and is a fantastic drive. Handling is excellent and the fifth gear really makes longer trips easy. The cabriolet's exhaust suggest a n engine transplant is imminent . It may mean using the copue ubut if anyone has a genuinely OK engine (for a coupe) then I may well be in the market.

The Mazda Montrose Coupe is one nice car - the hood down bit makes it just a bit more fun.

This is (more like *was* now) a really nice car. Elegant shape for a Japanese car of its time. Very reliable. True frameless coupe with the sunroof is a blast do drive with the roof and the rear windows open. Weak spots are an anemic (but bulletproof) engine, and corrosion. Parts are rather difficult to find now.
A 13B motor in it would be sweet; I'm working on it.
I have a fair amount of documentation for it, and am willing to share for the asking. Please feel free to contact me.

Having read posts about parts availability I am in a position to help.
I have a large stock of brand new, never used genuine Mazda parts for the Montrose (as well as some other models)
The list includes body panels, light units, bumpers, engine parts, trim etc.
Please email me your requirements.

When I moved out here in AZ, I bought an '81 mazda 626 coupe. I've driven it for a year now, and besides the minor expenses (gas, oil, CD PLAYER!!) I haven't had to put any work into it. I love this car, but as anyone who owns one knows, parts for this car are almost impossible to find. (If you don't believe me, just try and find something as simple as a lug nut for one!) all in all, it's a great car for the price!

I been running this motor going on 3 years now.I treat her well as fuel consumption is bad, especially with my Coupe ,auto box. That aside she looks good with thin band whitewalls and metallic dk/blue paint work and a lot of loving care from yours truly goes a long way. This 626 coupe is an 81 model with corresp.alloys, all original and always a project in work.
