This is my second bike, after a GPZ500...it is only 100c more but a whole different world. I am in love with this machine- done 3k on it in 3 months- sun, wind, rain- handles them all with ease. Great for my daily 30 mile commute, she runs smoothly from 2000 revs through to 13000. Fast up to 8000, explosive after that. Only problem is non too precise 2nd and 3rd gear change ups. Very comfortable bike, low seat height, and great for 2 up riding too- going to the Isle of Mann next month and France in a few months. this bike just begs to be ridden, whether commuting, touring or racing. And Carole Nash insurance only charge me £400 for a new rider (I'm 31) with no no claims on a 100bhp, 156mph bike...all I can say is buy one, you won't stop grinning!
Ive had my M reg ZZR600 for 4 years now but have only done 4000 miles since I bought it. Insurance stupidly low £138 with Carol Nash. Performance is excellent, extremely quick acceleration with a top end of 150mph, Im sure it will do more but I got scared !! Its got a 4 -1 stainless system on with a micron race can. Only problem is the suspension is too hard and I cant find the tool to adjust the rear shock so any tips here will be appreciated. Brakes are a bit soggy as well but still do the job. Paint work etc in tip top condition with no signs of rust. I was told that I needed new front discs since I had brake judder at the MOT but just strip them out and clean will get rid of that saving myself £260.
got my zzr this year after spending 3 years on a vf750f ie.20yr old bike liked the look of the bike then found i could actually put my feet flat on the floor being vertically challenged big bonus after 25mile test ride wide eyed and grinning like a maniac i new i had found the bike of my dreams 3500 miles since june in wales and im grinning like a maniac even before i get on the z TOTAL MAGIC
The ZZR is an excellent bike. Having covered 20,000 miles in the last 12 months it has never let me down. Good points are that it is very comfortable for one or two people, stupidly fast when you want it to be (nearly 160 mph - 100bhp), extremely practical with plenty of storage and good bungee hooks, good fuel economy, reasonable insurance and ultra reliable. Bad points are that the exhaust down pipes rot (easily replaced with aftermarket stainless items - try a Predator exhaust for value for money), suspension is a little soft, especially when two up and I recommend fitting a progressive spring kit (try a Hyperpro kit for matched front and rear springs), brakes are awful for siezing but can be replaced relatively cheaply when they refuse to be overhauled anymore.
I had my ZZR for 10 months before it got nicked. Brillient bike. I will do almost everything you ask. Good in town, good on the M-Way. Only goes fast when you want it to. Very easy to handle and builds confidence. Better as a All round commuter than a sports bike. Only problems are that the fairings are a devil to get off to top up fluids and insurance companies still treat it like a sports bike when in fact it should be in the fun sports/all rounder group.

A little bit dissapointed in some of the finish degrading after two and a half years but I suppose I HAVE done 20k through sun wind rain and snow. Superb engine, suspension a bit soft if you are taller. Handles M-ways excellently will sit at 120mph for days at a time and once fettled not at all bad in the twisties but against a hyper sports 600 (eg: R6 or GSX-R6) requires a lot of committment to keep up with really fast riders

I ride my ZZR/ZX-6 around Los Angeles as a commuter/canyon carver. Great power starting as early as 4000rpm. Handles great for its size. Leaned it quite far!

I nabbed my G reg version for £1500 a few months ago, after owning a GPX600 for all of three months. The ZZR is very fast, seems very stable in comparison to the GPX and it really looks the part (never ever had people turning their heads and staring before, so this is new territory for me!)
Insurance was laughably cheap (via the AA, it gets a huge age discount so TPFT was £170 with one years NCB at age 35 compared to last years premium of £310 for a Suzi Bandit)
I'm about to stick an aftermarket exhaust on it to make it legal, and give it a good overhaul for the usual consumables and stuff but it's by far the best bike I've owned for the money.
Owned for 3 months.
