I have had my Nokia 8310 for over two years and can thoroughly recommend it. I got it on contract for free so that's pretty good value for money! It has never let me down. A fully charged battery lasts me a week. It's small and light enough to carry in a shirt pocket. I mainly use it as a simple phone and it works well in that capacity. The other functions are of little interest to me with the exception of the radio which I occasionally find useful. My only complaint is that it sometimes loses the date and time when I swap batteries.
On my second 8310. Keypad failed on the first one after four months light usage. Second one developed same problem after six months, plus tends to crash occasionally when texting. Due for a free upgrade I'm glad to say - but I won't be taking another Nokia.
IVE HAD MEGA SOFTWARE PROBLEMS, USING TEXT SWITCHES ITSELF OFF, SAYS 'INSERT SIM' ALL THE TIME. ORANGE WON;T SWAP IT UNDER THEIR INSURANCE AS IT AINT COVERED - THEY SAY I CAN STILL USE THE PHONE SO THATS WHY BUT IF I 'ACCIDENTALLY' DROPPED AND SMASHED IT I'D GET A REPLACEMENT - OOPS BUT WAIT! ANOTHER CRAPPING-SOFTWARE FAULTED 8310 COMES THROUGH MY LETTER BOX!!! AAARRGGGHHH WHERE'S MY TRUSTY 2110?
This is a superb phone stilish easy to use and its even got a radio what more could you want i would recommend a nokia any day

DON'T BELIEVE WHAT THEY SAY!!! I'm on my third handset and due to swap out again with a new unit. The 8310 suffers from software problems and crashes continually when using the sms function.
