Had My TE410 for 18 months now with no major problems, starts 1st kick EVERY time! The only problem to watch for is the magnets detatching themselves from the flywheel, but these can be rebonded in (In exactly the same place they were in!!) this happened to me recently. I'm now relutantly swapping it for a new TE450, I just hope its as good!

Great bike, reliable and quick. Use 10/50 fully synthetic oil with regular changes for max performance. Spent nothing more than oil, filters + brake pads in a year.

Bought my 1999 TE410 second hand, it had 13 days racing prior to my ownership and was superbly set up and maintained. I change the oil very regularly (every two green lane trips, or every race/play day)It has always started easily. It had a slight misfire after doing the Strata Florida in very wet conditions, but after an air filter change was fine. (be careful not to over oil filters, and tape up vents in really deep water)- can be heavy on consumables, depends how its ridden! I have no plans to change in the near future!!

The husky thing started when I got fed up with kick starting my XR250. The whole bit of finding TDC and then jumping up and down in muddy water sweating in full enduro gear, draining the carb after leaving it a while was a chore. Enough was enough

I headed off in search of a DRZ400 - the offers were few, generally what I found was overpriced or used & abused.

A local dealer come up with a nearly new TE410. It started first push of the magic button and thumped into life. It rides higher and faster than the XR + I prefer the styling to anything on the track.

My riding is split between greenlane, gnarley off road and nipping in and out of town. It is well capable wherever, way quicker and heaps more fun than the 250. I ride with a DRZ400,XR600 & XT600, we swap bikes and at our level with the exception of the XT there's nothing in it. There's less to go wrong or break off on the XR, which is often the only one left behind trying to start + the husky doesn't seem to turn in so tight as the DRZ. The bigger husky TE610 sounds like more fun but would probably be too much of an animal for my needs.

All I've done in the time is an oil change 10/50 fully synth. If you need em parts are easy to get from huskysport - http://www.huskysport.co.uk

Superb bike to ride when it's running.
I've owned the bike for 3 months bought a new pair of boots the day i got the bike and have walked further in them than ridden, The bike in question has been in the shop for 2 months down to stretched timing chain,800kms light green laning, sticking choke piston and various other bits which involed a re-build, BUY JAPANESE

I 've got a Husky 1998 610 TE. What a machine! No starting probs despite the laft hand kick start. I have had it 2 years now and haven't had any dramas at all. I will be upgrading to a newer Husky when the time comes and nothing else. Regular oil changes and keeping the airfilter clean is all you need to do and she'll keep running great.

Use for trail riding in mid-south. Gear it down 2 teeth in the rear. Added a hot start for summer racing helped eliminate 2 to 3 kicks. Reliability has been above average. I choose to change oil every 2 to 3 rides or after every race (weekend). Cheep insurance. Use BelRay 10-50 synthetic. Mine is a 1999, so it handles slow in tight woods, but I learned to skid turns like a 2-stroke. Straight line stability and over jumps is superb. On a one to ten, this bike has been a solid eight.
