The main problem with the Sintra is Vauxhall!! THe overall design is good, the sliding doors are a bonus. We bought ours 2nd hand (3 yrs old) and there are a few problems with it...The horn has packed up, the alarm keeps going off, etc. It went to Inchcape Vauxhall in Reading for a new battery.....£170 +vat!!! this is a dealer only part and you have to take half the engine bay apart to get to it (very convinient..not!) 50k service - £240... It is a good car, but not a cheap one to own. Would I have another? Yes if I could find a good independent garage for repairs
I really like my 3.0l V6 auto. Despite the engine size, I get around 28mpg. I bought it with 40k on the clock and have now pushed it up to 98k in just under 3 years. Main faults - headlamps are obviously not sealed because they mist up (design fault I think because I have read several same reports - my electric sunroof motor has seized approx £500 mainly labour charge - the cambelt change is a complete ripoff - nobody else will touch them on the 3.0l circa £350 - I have just now got to get a power steering rack - total price £750 from dealer so I obtained one from a Motorquip dealer and got Vauxhall to fit it for total 1/2 price. Servicing costs are usually OK it is just the rip-off manufacturer's parts prices.

The 2.2 7 seater sintra is a great car it did have a few teething problems, but once sorted it is great. Lots of room and good performance. It is a shame Vauxhall dropped it and only prouduce the Zafira (a toy MPV) not in the same league as the Sintra. I will have to buy an Espace when the Sintra is replaced next year..

The car is good 3 litre Engine loads of power and can still get 30MPG. Very comfortable and loads of room. But Vauxhall are rubbish, they do not keep any parts, so you can wait months for just a little thing. They basically sell you a car and after that it is your problem. We have been lucky but I would never buy a Vauxhall again.

The worst car I ever owned, ride is like a bread van, door trim comes off in your hand. Constant random non starting with no solution, called AA out 4 times in 6 mths I owned. Exhaust leaked into car and smoke came out air vents.
Do not buy

I like the space, and the price. Its bigger and cheaper than the galaxy, and the sliding doors are excellent. from what i've read people either love it or hate it. fuel economy on the 2.2 seems reasonable, and the ride is very comfortable.

Having just completed 90K miles with mine Iam very loath to return it to my leasing company. It has suffered from only one repair in 3 years and that was the headlights. I am still on the first exhaust and clutch
