Ive owned my 1995 Discovery 3.9V8i for 18months, within 1month i had it converted to run on LPG as with an mpg of 15 i was going to need a second mortgage to fuel it. It now does 14 mpg urban and 17 on a good run. Because LPG is half the price of diesel its now doing fractionally more miles per £ than quite a few diesel disco's that i know of, and i have the added bonus of a very powerful and smooth Disco with a lovely exhaust note. I use my Disco for towing the family 5 berth caravan and a 2.5 ton vintage tractor to shows on a ifor plant trailer, i do find when im towing i get better mpg by not using 5th gear. All in all a great car, the wife was a strict volvo fan/driver, but she loves the disco & says she wouldn't swap it for any Volvo.
V8i good tow vehicle, goes any where the right tyres on it, comfortable, sounds great too!!! cheap on parts & easy to get too, cheap to insure.
V8i V thirsty but ok on lpg. watch for water ingress from sunroofs.

Discovery V8i 4. 1998 A nice comfortable vehicle.I have no problems with it, although its a very thirsty Landrover.
