Ahh...sweet memories! My 1973 Datsun 1200 sedan deserves a place amongst the Angels and Saints of Motor Heaven (I doubt she still lives in the form of a complete car)...as she was THAT good. I will have another "1200" before all cars are completely extinct - a monkey can fix 'em (I know!), they run forever, they do all the things you'd ever need to do with a car (legally, on the roads) and they're cute. If you are looking at these cars (brave soul!) check the following: *rust in the bulkhead / structural members - this forced me to sell mine as a parts car - if there is even a little cancer, FORGET about it! Remember...the old Sunny/1200 only weighs 650kgs outright so every ounce of solid frame counts towards savin' ya life in a prang-up. They were pretty strong cars by early Japanese standards, though. * poorly maintained brakes / suspension and steering - there is just NO excuse! Brakes were adequate when new - but no maintenance equals BLOODY LETHAL STUPIDITY! Tatty interiors are something you gotta live with due to the cheapness of the original materials and the front seats were just plain MEAN and NASTY! Whaddya want??...It IS a relic after all! Have fun!
Datsun Sunny B310 coupe. 1979, owned since new, bodywork now rusty but never broken down and engine runs as smoothly as the day it ran off the production line. Travelled 90,000 miles.
