I am very happy with my bike. It suits my requirements to a T. I wanted something that had a low seat, that was well made, that I could cruise around, smoothly all day. I tried several V-Twins but they could not get close. My 10 year old bike starts first time every time (touch wood). It handles well enough for me.
I just like the way you can slot it into top and it will pull from 1,500 up to 11,500 rpm if you can hang on that long because it is very "sit up and beg" riding.

The only moans I have are

1. The tank is not very big, but there are plenty of petrol sites about still, and
2. There seem to be no workshop manuals on the bike.
3. The awful name.

I think it was a winner but it must have been over priced originally which resulted in low sales.
Its a cruiser style combined with 4 cyl smoothness.
I tried Virago's and the like but they were comparativley over priced, way over priced compared to the quality that I found in the Eliminator.
A niche bike. Happily for me I am in that niche so deeply that only my eyeballs are showing above the surface.
I'm happy

My wife loves her ZL600 and that's good enough for me. Given the choice of selling her 86 model and getting a newer bike, or having a full rebuild.. she went for the rebuild. We found http://www.koups.com and http://www.bikebandit.com very helpful and everything you need diagram wise is on http://www.buykawasaki.com (on the left of the page is a small link to older bikes) so describing what was needed, or identifying what goes where was easy. We had stainless steel double skinned pipes made (exact match) by a guy in Pembrookshire for 750GBP inc down pipes!I'll not rate it as I don't ride at all, but if she loves it, it must be good!

After having a Honda Shadow, I was
suspicious of this 600cc Eliminator,
but a friend suggested it would be a
good bike for me. As a female with a
short leg length (28" the seat height
of 28.1" is exactly right for me and
its really comfortable. The six speed
shaft drive is positive at the rear
wheel and the handling is superb. For
a small bike, it's a real stonker, and
although it won't keep up with the
plastic road-rockets, it will take off
from a standing start as well as, if
not better. I'm well pleased with it.
