I have two of these puddle-jumpers, and after over forty years of riding, I still see the honesty in the design. I get better than 70mpg, and I have seen the high side of 65mph straight-and level, without a windbreak.
"Touring" is an optimistic term, though 60mph all day is possible because of the willing though tiny engine and the really comfy seat. Around town, though, for commuting -- it's simply wonderful. One-kick starts make the electric redundant; the cornering grip (with two Pirelli "front" tires -- properly-sized name brand matched pairs are unavailable in the US) is plenty to make sparks around any clean corner; brakes do their jobs; and at speeds up to 40+mph, it's "competitive" with normal traffic.
The light weight makes it a joy to park and reposition. Its unassuming looks and mild performance don't interest the cops. Insurance is really cheap, as are licensing fees. Parts are available for both my 6-volt 1980 and 12-volt 1981, though I notice that parts shops increasingly do not carry 6v bulbs, flashers, etc. When I last needed a 6v headlight, I had to get it through the Honda dealer, and it cost me $55! No problems with 12v components, though.
"Maintenance" consists of changing the oil and lubing the chain. (The chain never seems to "stretch." Of course, why would it?)
Overall, these are delightful little bikes. Ladies aren't intimidated by them; in fact, a few have sat on them and asked if I'd teach them to ride. The minimal and predictable power, low saddle height and light weight make these ideal first bikes, as well.
Unassuming, reliable, light, low; classic looks (even if scaled down a bit).
Low top speed (offset by just-adequate forks).
Reviewing a 1981 model.
I have both a 1980 and an '81. (Newer bike shown.)

Lovely little bike for people with little money. Sweet and smooth little motor will go forever with regular oil changes. Will do well over 100 mpg without trying, and pobble along at 55-60 all day. Very comfy seat. Replace the silly high bars with flat ones and you can tour on it, if you are the patient type. Good quality fittings and electrics. The only let-down is the frame which is too spindly, spoiling the handling a bit. The suspension travel isn't much, so it doesn't enjoy bumpy roads.
