I have just bought a manual holden piazza YB 1986 about one month ago. Being my first car, and having driven my fathers ford station wagon to get my licence, my piazza is certainly a breath of fresh air. To anyone buying or discussing buying a piazza... BUY IT!!! they really are a great car and great value for money

I Own a 1986 Isuzu Piazza (rebadged to a Holden Piazza because i live in Australia) i own the first one to arrive in australia as a "holden" its a RHD 2.0ltr SOHC turbo.. i brought it of my parents when i was 14yrs old and i now have my licence at 17yrs old and i LOVE IT!!! its a real head turner, its great to drive, handles brilliantly, i have the boost set to 10psi which gives it that little extra boost which gives it the ability to keep up with subaru WRX's And nissan silvias. I own 2 of them and i want more!. the best thing about it is that nobody has heard of them considering there is only a couple hundred in australia. im lovin the digital dash and and interiour. great value for money, thanks for your time

I owned three consecutively between 1986 and 1996, the first two being Mk1 models and the third a Handling by Lotus version. Until 1986 I had a Lotus Excel 2.2L which had paintwork problems within 6 months of new so I decided to try the trad metal Piazza instead.

The dealer list prices actually dipped below £9000, on the road, when the original UK importer went bust and Alan Day Motors in London bought around 900 cars off the dockside from the liquidators. At the time this was the list price of a small Vauxhall 1.3L saloon so fantastic value for money.

Acceleration was great and from 40 to 80 mph truly blistering for an everyday car not pretending to be a Ferarri!

So, overall I've had around 200,000 miles of Piazza experience.

By mid-nineties parts in UK had become very expensive and the Isuzu dealer I used had little interest in stocking them. The UK distributors originally undertook to maintain stocks for overnight delivery but in effect reneged on this and eventually the time came to cut the losses.

What a shame! I'd have a new one tomorrow if it were available.

A much underated car, for mid to late 80s has great looks of italian sports stylist, great performance, lovely interior - with two little seats in the back. Parts still not impossible to get. Engine based on GM van, but turbo makes a big difference. Body can have rust probs, but not too serious.
Well worth keeping a few good examples
going.

I own a 1985 Isuzu piazza. it is a very good, strong reliable car with great handling. Parts costs are reasonable, performance particularly good considering displacement and economy. Very comfortable, not the average car for most 17 year olds but I'm very happy with my choice.
