The megadrive is my absolute FAVOURITE console. The graphics of course aren't up to today's standards but the games are brilliant. Dig out your megadrive and TRY and complete some of the games you could whizz through when you were younger. An absolute must for retro gaming!
The megadrive was an amazing console. My ratings for graphics and sound are based around the quality at that time but my other two ratings are based on the present day. I have seen megadrives for £15. Mcuh more cheaper than my over £100 PS2 and with a wider selection of games. Even with the 16-bit limit, the gameplay and sound of the console blew everyone away at the time. Trust me, if you're looking for a stupidly cheap console that offers one of the widest selection of games i've seen on a console (including all-time favs like toe-jam and earl and sonic the hedgehog) then go for the megadrive. This is the best retro gaming experience ever!
I got a Mega-Drive for Christmas in 1994 and it was the first games console I got. I remember playing Columns, World Cup Italia '90 and FIFA 95 until I had a blistered thumb. I played the two-player modes on Streets of Rage and Golden Axe for months on end, and two of my all-time favourite games, Flashback and Wonderboy In Monsterworld were also released on the console.
I had a playstation for a few years and got bored and sold it. I went and bought a megadrive the other day and its great! The games are really cheap and i want to get hold of sonic & knuckles badly its a great game! Overall its a great cheap way of gaming
We bought a Megadrive for our daughters when the eldest was 7,she's 19 now and still occasionally plays on it when she's home from uni.Our son who's just turned 12 was given a Megadrive and lots of games by a friend of mine about a year ago and although we have PS1 and PS2 he loves the Megadrive and Sonic is his favourite game.You can often find the games and consoles at car boot sales and they are always VERY cheap,we've picked up games for as little as 25p each!!

every thing ya want in a game, graphics are not 2 poor, and there hasnt been a game that i havnt enjoyed yet!!! streets of rage is a classic loved it!!! along with all the micro machine games!!!!!
We have had a Sega Mega Drive and 12 games donated by a parent to our Christmas Bazaar. All the games are boxed with instructions but their are no instructions for the console itself. I set it up but the picture was very snowy and I am wondering if I have set it up wrong. Any ideas as I want to be able to offer it for auction at the bazaar in fully working order. I agree completly with the person who sent a review on 5 May 2002 (JackieJones). I also love the mega drive and my favourite game is Sonic the Hedgehog 2. I am trying to get all the mega drive games I wanted when I was younger but couldnt afford them. I have had a mega drive for about 9 years and I am now 19 years old but I still play on it. Well i Bought a Mega drive for my son's 5th b/day hes 16 now and had to buy another and then one second hand and if this one breaks will have to buy another my younger two sons who are 6 and 7 also play it my fav game is wonderboy in monster world and dizzy and now have to bid on ebay to get the games i want we have a play sation and gamecube but would never part with the old sega

Ilove Sega Mega Drive i,ve had one since I was 3yrs old I am now 15yrs old Sega is a really good console but it is such a shame that the games and parts are very rare I love my Mega Drive My first mega drive i had for christmas in 1990 i got it with altered beast my second mega drive i got from argos it costed £59.99 my third mega drive i got in christmas 1998.But i am still playing on it today my favourite game is sonic the hedgehog 2 i wouldnt change my mega drive for the world
first console i ever had and i've had a few since. but my best times now are when i get it out again i just find me going back to being 6yrs old on my bedroom floor playing away. it's a shame now that all the games and accessories are so rare. i'd give my right arm for golden Axe II

SEGA and Nintendo. The way things should be. And this won it hands down. Phantasy Star, Shining Force, Space Harrier, Sonic. A console that every single person in the world should own.

Sega is a very good console, but the Super Ninterdo has a SuperFX chip. one of the best games in graphics for the Megadrive is Vectorman
