The SEGA Dreamcast is, put simply, the console no serious gamer should be without. If you don't have one - you can't really call yourself a serious gamer. It's that simple. It's sadly the last system from Sega but boy, did they go out with a bang. After the Saturn debacle, Sega took great care to ensure three things with the Dreamcast - it wouldn't have any over-complicated hardware making it difficult to program for, it would be a reasonable price from launch, it would have hundreds of quality titles to support it. They passed all of thier own tests with flying colours - the DC delivered on all three counts. It was also the first console ever to feature online gaming through it's built in modem. The PS2 and XBOX have only just about got thier online gaming act together in the past 12 months or so, but the Dreamcast has had online gaming since 2000!

At the end of the day, all said and done, this console was seriously ahead of it's time and still has visuals to put the PS2 to shame (Soul Calibur as one example). Sega supported it with a whole collection of some of thier finest games ever, and third parties loved to work for it because it was so easy to get the most out of and it was very inexpensive to program for. Unfortunatley, the Dreamcast was beaten by the PS2's seriously undeserved hype and Sony's marketing which made thier console a must have 'lifestyle' product and the Dreamcast, by comparison, a 'special interest' or 'gamers' machine. It's a shame that Sega decided to give up on thier console, because it was actualy doing pretty well - and could have easily secured itself as a credible alternative to the PS2 or XBOX. The Dreamcast is an excellent console and I can't recommend it highly enough - and with the number of units for sale rapidly dropping get this piece of gaming history before it's too late.

Hmm. Chice between Xbox (na ive already got a computer that will dump on it from a grat hight) ps2 (the only decent games on it are done better on the computer)) game cube (love nintendo but right now its the no game cube, i will be buying it just for thw zelda title though)then in the corner of the shop, under a shelf i saw a dreamcast. £29,99. Hmm 128 bit console with modem. £29,99 new. i looked on the shelf some bad ass games (marvel verses capcom 2 £5, space channel £5 sonic adventure 1 & 2 £5 each(i love them games) soul calibour £5 etc lots of them. all going for less than the price of a ps2 magazine) bearing in mind that luigi's mansion was on sale in the same shop for 49.99. For the same price i just got a kikk ass console with some honestly good titles and internet access. For the firt time in my life i dont feel ripped off by a games company. its even got a cute little game boy memory card thingy that displays stuff on your controller while playing games. and you can download gamed for it. sweet. this console has had some serious money thrown at it and exudes quality. Its not being made any more. thats why it £30 but it is honestly the only option at the moment for a 128 bit console. Now can anyone tell me the if theres a possibility of hooking this up with a computer through the modems for 2 player Quake 3 arena. Come on somebody must of thought of it. Now if they had there had imagine how different the wold would be.

The dreamcast is the best console i have ever owned and still own. Even though sega have ceased product (which saddens me deeply) I would not trade this little white beauty for anything. These console are great, with so many AAA titles avalible, including the likes of PSO, Shenmue I & II, MSR, Vitua Tennis (the list could go on). You'll have hours of gameplay out of it. You even have the added feature of accessing the internet, which has now been setup so you can use own IP. There not an awful lot of things wrong with the dreamcast. (it's a little bundle of joy) the only bad thing about it is like i said before, no more are being made, But that shouldn't put you off buying one as you can pick up a great bundle pack from EB or Game, for £99.99 which includes the console, VMU, MSR, Vitua Fighter 3tb and Jet Set Radio (Amazing). So take my advise if you aren't already enjoying the pleasures of playing your dreamcast, then you best get one quick or you just might of miss the greatest thing thats hit the gaming world.

It is not £99 which makes it the
cheapest way to get on-line.
Also for the money you will be able to
play some of the best games of 2000
& 2001. Also at this time if you put a
PS2 next to a Dreamcast you will think
the Dreamcast Plays, Looks, & kicks ass
over the PS2. So what would you buy
Dreamcast £99 or PS2 £300?
