I think pre-LOATHED would be a more accurate description for the Pony. I bought one for £100 earlier this year mainly because it still had 6 months MOT and tax and I urgently needed a cheap little runabout. It's a 1987 1.3 I've never got it past 85mph even downhill with a following wind, acceleration is poor, steering is heavy and rather vague. The only real excitement this car provokes is when trying to overtake anything faster than a milkfloat, and then it's of the buttock-clenching variety. Good points are that it's such a simple car that there's very little to go wrong, open the bonnet and you find an engine that looks as if it should be powering a small generator in the third world. Most servicing jobs can be done with a 12mm spanner and the tools found on a boy-scout's pocket knife! Overall verdict.... usually boring, sometimes frightening, but very reliable.
very nice looking car quite well put together. the only problem is i only got mine 2 days ago and its already giving me trouble :( hopefully the auto electrician can fix it tommorow...
Bought mine in 1997 and sold it to a family member in 2001. Never gave me or them any trouble. Has now gone to the scrap yard. She will be missed - The Silver Fox

i say the same thing as one other person, but no one believes me, it does go 0-40km/h faster than an accent. the big drawback is these things rust like u wouldn't believe :( my little girl went to a junkyard

Thank god for a manual choke! Handles like a drunken elephant and has the throttle of a caterpillar on crutches. Paid £400, not bad value for. Spending more on oil than petrol at the moment though! No back wiper or left wing mirror make driving it a bit more interesting.
