Fantastic motorsailer for any weather. Needs a good wind to be under sail, but it is a motor sailer.Good space below..a lot of wasted space aft but good storage for dinghy etc. Ours is long keek and tends to rock at anchor but in a big sea she is perfect. If buying get the biggest rig if there is choice.Overall the best motorsailer of its size for the money.
Many thanks to Don for selling me his Colvic. I find it very comfortable for both sailing and accomadation. An Ideal boat for these waters. Can't imagine sitting in a exposed cockpit-even in the summer. Kevin
A very seaworthy boat. The wheelhouse is excelent in that it keeps you dry and warm and extends the sailing season throughout the winter. It also makes a pleasant cabin when in moored. The cockpit is deep and safe. The Colvic Atlanta 31 was professionally fitted out by Atlanta marine. Being a ketch, the sails are easy to handle. Mine has been improved by leading the controls back to the cockpit and fitting a gas kicker. The Colvic 31 is known to sail better than many motorsailors. My boat has averaged 7.5 knots in a force 6. The saloon is lined with teak and the galley is well laid out. These boats are excellent to live aboard. The boat is designed more for long distance cruising than beating up rivers, and I have made several trips overnight of over 100 miles single handed. My boat is now for sale at Hartlepool, because I'm not using it enough. Telephone Yacht Service on 01429 261454 if you're interested.
