We bought our trekker in 2001 and we find it very satisfactory we converted the end loung/diner into end bedroom with a plywood base & queen size matress much more convienent as there is just the two of us the only problems have been dealer related cracked shower tray was replaced with a grey one instead of white {we are still arguing with dealer over this} and poor servicing but a very good van
i previously owned an avondale land ranger 6400ls. in a little over 18 months, it had no less than £1600 spent on repairs to the cahssis, shock-absobers, tyres, interior and body work, not to mention having been in for repairs for no fewer than 3 months in total. it was stolen 12 months ago, and i went out expecting to buy a new land ranger, but was apalled at the general build quality. i came away havin purchased a sterling trekker 5- birth which i am completely happy with. the biggest fault it has had is fitting the wheel clamp! i am thoroughly pleased with everything this 'van has to offer and feel that it is the best 'van on the market. i strongly recomend it to everyone
update to my previous comments of 26-9-00 The caravan has been returned to the supplying dealer-Torksey caravans of Lincoln-for repairs to be carried out.They had it for three weeks and did not complete more than half the jobs i had asked them to do under the terms of the warranty.They have caused damage to the chassis of tne caravan and the work that they have done is of poor quality. I am now considering returning the caravan as i consider it to be not of merchantable quality and i want my money back. I will update as things progress.
A very good caravan but let down by poor build quality which could be easily overcome.Too many minor faults.Manufacturer refuses to deal with customers direct,refers you to dealers who are not very helpfull.

I have six children and find that they can all be acommodated in the van even without the awning.It tows well and is built to a very high standard.My van is three years old and as yet has had no major problems.
