it has every think u coul want
Owned for 3 years.
between myself and my husband we have had 0ur 620i for 5 years it has done over 150,000 miles (i said happy birthday to it and gave it a pat on the boot) it has only broken down once when a water pipe broke apart from thatit has been a gem of a car apart from one small niggle. over the last 2 weeks i have gone to switch on the car, and when the engine management light goes off the car turns over but won,t start my hubby thinks its a battery problem and i think its an engine management problem. as the problem is intermittent taking it to a garage is a waste of time. anyone got any hints or tips?? brilliant car love it!!!
Brought my modded TI 6 months ago. Rapid (150+ MPH, 0-60 7 secs) reliable and not bad to insure considering the performance. A real "Q" car and you can pick them up for peanuts now. They are known for eating heads/gaskets and gearboxes though!! If you are looking for cheap speed look no further.
Finally bought the Ti and even though I knew what I was getting, it still suprised me how quick it is. Accleration and performance through the range in every gear, along with luxury and practicality that will match any other car. These cars are incredibly cheap for what you get - leather, air con, 4 ew's and so on. You all know the spec and facts so if you have one already you know what I dont need to type, and if you are thinking about it - buy one today!
Hi Just bought a second hand rover 620i mreg 1995 £699. Hope somebody can help with this, the keys and the remote flob all work and can lock the car and seem to set the alarm (the indicators do the old flash) however at an intermitant time i.e. after 2 hours or 10 the alarm will go off, i open the door with the key or remote flob and it stops, can anybody help with this or offer advice. I dont care for the alarm and just want to diconnect, i have disconnected the horn at the front as it sound like a horn been pressed so no wires go into it, yet the alarm still sound...hopping somebody can help [Log in to view email]

I owned a 620ti a few years back. Had problem with sticky valves, but that was put right. Performance wise it was terrific. 30-50mph (4th) in 5.9" Wow! Compare to a brand new (2004) BMW 330Ci at 6.9" according to their website. Once gave one of those a spanking; the poor guy looked like he was gonna cry. 0-60 at 7.low" is pretty impressive too; I found that limited by narrow 205 rubber not hooking up well at take-off. Who knows what could have been achieved with 225/235's on a boiling hot road. Still good for humiliating boy racers in their Nova with their chebette sat next to them. As for handling, I never really tested it to be honest. Large weight at the front and a prepensity to spin the wheels gave only about 12000 miles on each set of tires (P7000's). Sliding it around corners would have increased drastically the already high cost of tires (£120 each when I had it). On the subject of fuel economy, I could regularly get 32mpg out (including some town/show-it-the-stick type driving).
All in all, great car. Hasn't got toys like sat nav or trip 'puter, but who cares - its cheap. The only thing I really didn't like were the small 16" rims; would have loved to have shod it in 17/18"ers, but couldn't afford it. Maybe on the next one I buy.
I was lucky enough to get my 620SLDI very cheap from my brother in law when he got a new co. car. Best grand i ever spent on a S reg motor! 120k but you wouldn't know it with having FSH by Rover. 1st gear is a bit slow if you don't get turbo spinning but apart from that i am well impressed with performance. Think fuel gauge is stuck sometimes cos economy is excellent. I am lucky enough to be looking after a T reg BMW 323i for a friend of mine who mixed the devils brew with the steering wheel and was handed an 18 month ban and much prefer the 600 for every day driving and long distance too. Only probs have been elec front windows (both!) regulators. I stuck a 12 disc cd changer and new head unit in and didnt even have to uprate standard speakers. It cant match 2.5 litre beemer for performance but its much comfier to be in. Never thought i would buy Rover but couldn't say no after what my brother in law said about it and he didn't even want to sell it! When he sees it now he still comments on the looks of it. One of the best looking cars when viewed from the side
I've got a 620 Turbo i.... all I can say is it's a lot of car for your money and it goes like stink! ve4y relaxing but there's a lot of fun under the hood. Highly recommended!!!!
I've owned my 620 Sli for 5 years. It's a '95 M and now has 98k on the clock. It's passed all MOT's bar one. Failed on the hard to see in daylight rear number plate lights of which one was out. That said iv'e had 2 rear tail pipes,1 windscreen and nearside wiper assy. (bloody pheasents)And a shed load of tyres. It's a great car, comfy, reliable, and a pleasure to drive. All mod cons inc E/FFSR, E/W all round, remote C/L P/S ABS Twin SRS and a great foot rest for your left foot. I would reccomend one of these to anyone.
I've had a Rover 620 SLDi for two years now (not the obvious choice for a 22 year old) and the car has been a pleasure to run. For the same price as a used corsa or fiesta i get a car with room for all my mates, handling which while not the best can be rewarding enough for most tastes, performance which isnt too far behind most 2.0 litre petrols and yet fuel costs which would shame many superminis. All this wrapped up in understated, elegant bodywork. If this is a car for old men i'd say theyve got one over on most of us 'yung'uns'.
this is a quick car ,the road comes up real fast the the blower is on full, the best one is the rover sport kernahn edition which i own,its lowered tougher springs and has a nice kit on it the car feels best after 100mph when u feel like it wants to go,but if you want to you can drive it like a normal car and have great fuel consumption
I've got a 1993 620 Si which I've had starting problems with. When I've driven the car,it's got warm then I've parked and turned off the engine, it won't start up again. The engine management light stays on, it turns over but it won't fire. It's been tested for a spark and it hasn't been sparking. I've put in a brand new coil and spark ignitor into the distributor with no change, the problem still occurs. It only seems to only happen when the car gets hot. Otherwise, the engine is in perfect condition. I've had various small wiring faults rectified but the fault remains. Anyone had similar problems who can help?
I bought a 95 M reg 620Si a few months back, had only 1 problem with it: drivers window motor went immediately. Still haven't been able to get hold of a new one. Not complaining though, as I picked the car up very cheap and value for money is understatement. I work in trade so drive many cars, and I have found that there are not many that are as fast or comfortable as mine. It really does feel like home when I get back in. I have fitted a full Alpine stereo system, was very easy to do and it sounds fantastic. Looking out for a Ti now, a lot of people underestimate the performance and whole luxury of the Si so I cant wait to educate them with the outstanding 200 bhp turbo. Only downside as I am very young is high insurance but there you go!
This has got to be the best-looking saloon car of the nineties! Only colours to have though are Nightfire Red and the gunmetal colour (whatever it's called). Air-con is a luxury I can live without, and I do, but available on higher spec models. Mine's a plain old N-Reg 620i but I feel like a million dollars driving it. My only crib is that it doesn't come onto the cam until you're doing about 4000-4500 rpm, a revvy unit, and I'd got used to the 2-litre grunt of my old Volvo 365 GLT. Once it's spinning though - Mmmm!Airbags, ABS, electric sunroof, electric front windows (passengers, what are they?) power steering, common enough these days on super-minis but add some legroom and a decent-sized boot and, best of all, a little niche for your left foot to rest (so rising off your seat for a fart is effortless!) these are the things to make you feel superior. Even the mpg can be surprising if you drive sensibly. All this for a tad over £1900 a year ago. Tip of the week - don't try and adjust the handbrake! If it doesn't work too well change the pads, 'cos they're worn out. DON'T take up what seems to be slack in the cable - it 'aint slack! It's not like the old-style mechanical handbrakes of yore and you'll bugger the calipers if you play around. Trust me! This is the best looking Honda ever (except for the NSX!).
Hi. I bought my Ti just over a year ago and have been pleased with it (apart from the depreciation)The car is a 98 R reg which has covered 78000 miles. i bought it with 55000 and the engine just gets better and better I've had a couple of problems for example : Power steering pump - you don't ever want this to go. i was quoted £500 but in the end got it done for £300 cash!. Also the alternator has just been re-conditioned at a cost of £120 which wasn't too bad. Other than that the engine has been sound and hasn't let me down yet. Moving on to the performance side of things, the Ti always puts a smile on my face. so understated , so underated, but a bargain if you find a good one with FSH which i must say is vital. being a turbo engine it needs an oil change every 6K miles, so as you can see a FSH is very important . I've only fitted an induction kit to mine so far, the whistle from and the sucking noise from the turbo are addictive and you can quite clearly hear the wastegate between gear changes, therefore decideding not to fit a dump valve. I'd have to say run it only on super unleaded (i find optimax to be the best) for those extra horses. I know its more expensive but it's worth it. I'd est 60mph to be in around 6 - 6.5 secs depending on whether the road is dry and the conditions allow it. I've pretty much nearly topped it out on a particular stretch of motorway. an indicated 155mph on the speedo and maybe if it was cooler gone on to maybe top 160mph. maybe this car has one off performance considering its pretty much standard. most BMW, MERC's, AUDI's, Subaru's are toast, apart from a few exceptions. i.e an M3 . some people may dissagree about the performance mine has and still is achieving, but trust me , i aint bull shitting. Handling on these is a bit daunting at first but u soon realise there is alot of grip on those 4 tyres you'll be going round corners like the clappers. the LSD helps no end if you start to lose grip, just plant your foot and off you go. Unfortunately the brakes just dont seem up to the job . a few dabs on the middle peddle at very high speed causes brake fade. a few short hard stabs on the brake minimizes this and helps the brakes cool down i found from personal experience. Overall id say its a very comfortable car for long distances and pretty easy round town. its discreet and the looks on peoples faces when they get over taken at pace is priceless. parking is the only problem with limited rear view visability. if u have a couple of grand spare , go and get one. it will be the fastest thing for the money and i don't think you'll be dissapointed!!!
